Starting December 1, 2024, Indian citizens and travellers from 92 other visa-free countries will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before visiting Thailand.
A pilot programme for the ETA will launch on December 1, 2024, with a full rollout expected by June 2025.
The ETA grants a single entry into Thailand and will be valid for 60 days from the date of issuance, with a one-time extension of 30 days available.
Travellers will benefit from automated immigration clearance gates that use QR codes, significantly reducing waiting times at entry points.
The ETA application process will be entirely digital and accessible through the official Thai e-Visa website, making it convenient for travellers.
All these nations were granted visa-free entry to Thailand starting July 15, 2024, reflecting Thailand's efforts to promote tourism and international relations.
