Apple Next-Generation CarPlay Launch in 2024 with iOS 17.4 Beta Features

Apple has officially confirmed the launch of next-generation CarPlay in 2024 for U.S. vehicle models, with no specific timeframe provided for availability in other countries.

The announcement on Apple's website replaces the earlier statement of "Vehicle announcements coming in late 2023" with the new information "First models arrive in 2024."

Users will have the ability to customize the theme and color scheme of next-generation CarPlay, as seen in images uncovered in the iOS 17.4 beta.

iOS 17.4 beta introduces eight new CarPlay apps, enhancing integration with vehicles. New CarPlay apps include Auto Settings, Car Camera, Charge, Climate, Closures, Media, Tire Pressure, and Trips.

Apple collaborates with automakers like Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, and others, emphasizing a growing ecosystem of support.

The iOS 17.4 update is scheduled for release in March 2024, and it remains unclear if next-generation CarPlay features will be retroactively applied to existing vehicles.
